"Rope Marks"

Mr. and Mrs. Castillo together with their son Richard decided to move from their ancestral house to a new home which Mr Castillo bought from a friend. It was Saturday evening, and it’s the first time that the Castillo family will spend the night at their new house.

            After supper, Richard went straight ahead to his room upstairs. Upon entering the door Richard felt that he was a stranger in his own room. Every fixture was his old things, but the whole environment was new. Richard lay on his bed to sleep, but he finds it hard to sleep due to the new environment surrounding him. Suddenly he heard a soft voice singing. He rose from his bed to see where the voice is coming. He was surprised when he saw a girl standing beside the window. The girl stood still, at about eighteen years of age, has a pail skin, and all dressed in white. The girl turn her head towards Richard. Richard felt frightened especially when he noticed the rope markings on the girl’s neck as if she was tied up. “Who are you?” ask Richard. The girl did not replied, she walked closer to the bed. Richard started to shake when the girl is getting closer. But as she comes close she diminished and completely disappeared on Richard’s very eyes. Richard tremble in fright, and rushed his way out of the room.

            Morning came. And Richard finds himself waking on the sofa. He remembered what happened last night when he saw the ghost of the girl and when he rushed out down the living room where he slept for the night. While having breakfast, Mrs. Castillo asked Richard why he slept in the sofa. Richard hesitates to tell the whole story about what happened because he knew his mother will not believe him so he answered “I’m just not use to my new room so I slept on the sofa.” Mrs Castillo is not satisfied with her son’s answer but still, she did not ask anymore. Night time quickly came, even though he feels hesitant Richard bravely went to his room. He sat on his bed and looked at the window. Nothing showed on his vision. He turned his head to the opposite side and there he saw the ghost girl sitting right beside him. He was shocked on what he saw. The girl started talking and said “Don’t be afraid, I will not harm you.”
